Northern Vietnam is full of wonders, which you should go to feel thoroughly. There are many beautiful places in this area, such as Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Lao Cai, Ha Giang…among which Ha Giang is merging with many breathtaking sites, including Dong Van, Meo Vac and especially Hoang Su Phi, because of its unique and extraordinary landscapes, recognizing the best places to go trekking in Vietnam

Where To Stay When Trekking In Hoang Su Phi

Located on the way from Hanoi to Ha Giang city, we can reach the province after 6 hours of driving. Hoang Su Phi is 30 km from the left turn at Tan Quang crossroad as you head towards Ha Giang.

The further you go in the region, the more you see the difference in many aspects of life that you might never experience. Hoang Su Phi is home to many ethnic groups: Hmong, Red Dzao, Nung… In Hoang Su Phi, Nam Hong is the first recommended destination to explore, which is a small village located in Thong Nguyen town. There are some options for your stay: you can either stay in a simple homestay or luxury lodges. No matter where you stay, you will still be in full contact with local minorities because all lodges and homestays are owned or managed by the villagers.

Suggested accommodation: Hoang Su Phi Lodge

Is Hoang Su Phi The Best Place For Trekking In Vietnam?

It is totally true because you can enjoy beautiful rice terraces in your dreams and immerse yourself in the real life of local ethnic minorities. It is a hidden region where tourists are virtually absent. Because of its distant location, it might challenge you to cross the extremely winding and sloping roads. Therefore, it is quite off the beaten path and make Hoang Su Phi the best place for trekking in Vietnam

Local houses in Hoang Su Phi are located on a high hill to keep the fresh air inside despite the hot climate in Vietnam in summer. In the day, people work very hard; the children study at school but when they are back home, they still have to help their parents to do lots of work. The area is very calm and quiet. When the sun comes down, everyone gathers at home and has a good meal with a few small glasses of rice alcohol.

The distances of day treks are from 12km to 15km passing one to 2 villages and take about 6 hours trekking. If there are many sun's rays, the green colors of the rice terraces can be highlighted. It could not be more splendid and beautiful. The arrival at the top of the road allows you to have a magnificent view of the whole area.

After the trek, you will have overnights at homestays, which are owned by local ethnic minorities. Few glasses of rice wine can be a memory to finish your stay in Hoang Su Phi.
